Pacific Islands
The Pacific Islands Committee aids the Council of Western State Foresters (CWSF) in developing informed and unified approaches to the natural resource issues and needs of managers in the tropical forests of the Pacific Islands. This approach aids the CWSF in presenting a unified presence to Congress and to the Washington Office of the USDA Forest Service on behalf of the member island/territories of the Pacific with their unique tropical forestry issues. In addition, the committee provides a forum for technology transfer and information exchange. The members of the Pacific Island Committee include: the Territories of Guam and American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the State of Hawaii, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republics of the Marshall Islands and Palau.
